Many have speculated that the 911 spied at the ring is in fact the new 2010 911 GT3 RS. To me it looks like the the 2010 911 GT3, not the RS version. The car doesn’t have that wide profile that the RS is known for. I could be wrong but either way it’s still cool that at least a GT3 will be in production for 2010.
While searching on the net, I found an article on Automobile Mag that many have probably already seen but for those who haven’t, it gives some ideas of possible specs:
Source: Automobile Mag
By Evan McCausland
If you were holding out for a next-gen 911 GT3 that was radically different than its predecessor, you may be out of luck. We’ve just received photos of the new 2010 Porsche 911 GT3, and from what we can glean, it’s certainly evolutionary.
Perhaps most evolutionary is the GT3′s exterior. While our spies report the front fascia differs little from the current GT3, changes at the aft end are equally miniscule. Most visible are the new upswept taillights (introduced on the 2009 Porsche 911), as well as a smooth rear bumper, now devoid of scoops or flared surfaces. These prototypes also wear a smaller rear spoiler, which resembles the single-plane wing of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS.
Those changes are hardly earth-shattering, but those beneath the surface may be. We’re expecting to see direct fuel injection, introduced with the 2009 Porsche 911, added to the next GT3. Although early reports suggested the new fuel delivery system would be fitted to the current GT3′s 3.6-liter flat-six, rumor has it Porsche’s looking at a high-horsepower version of the larger 3.8-liter flat-six out of the new 911. Either way, look for the new GT3 to produce significantly more power, perhaps in the neighborhood of 440 hp.
Speculation still surrounds the implementation of PDK, Porsche’s dual-clutch seven-speed transmission. Although early speculation suggested mating the PDK transaxle with the GT3′s 3.6-liter engine posed numerous headaches, new reports suggest those issues were solved by switching to the 3.8-liter engine.
While the 2009 Porsche 911 will slowly make its way to dealers this fall, look for the 2010 Porsche GT3 to be unveiled at either the 2009 Geneva or Frankfurt motor show, and reach dealers by early 2010.

After a very close final two stages, Travis Pastrana edged out Kyle Sarasin for the win at the 2008 Rally Colorado. At the start of the day, Pastrana had a lead of approximately thirty seconds, and barring any problems, both he and Sarasin expected the Subaru Rally Team USA driver to win the event.
All day the pair traded times and stayed within about the same margin. On the third to the last stage, everything changed. The Elkhead Flats stage was run yesterday in the opposite direction and had claimed many car parts due to its rough nature. At the start of the stage, Travis was clear.
“We’ll have to stay careful and not get any punctures.” By the end of the stage, his words appeared prophetic. Partway through the stage, Travis and co-driver Derek Ringer got a puncture in a rear tire. Stopping to change the tire would have cost them the lead and so the pair pushed on to the finish, losing time with every inch leading to the finish of the stage.

When the time cards were collected and checked over, the rally had changed dramatically. Now Pastrana held a lead of only four tenths of a second over Kyle Sarasin, and two stages remained.
“It wasn’t really team orders,” said Pastrana of his choice to go all out for the win. “Any racer would have done the same, I just couldn’t give it up.”
At the end of the second last stage, Travis finished expecting to have resecured the lead but was floored to find out Kyle had only let 1.4 seconds slip away over the 6.25 mile long stage. The pair went on to the final stage, a re-run of the Middle Cog stage. At just over five miles, there was still ample opportunity to either win or lose the event here, and both drivers knew it.
“As we came to the finish,” recounted Mikael Johansson, co-driver to Kyle Sarasin, “both Derek and Travis were waiting out of their car, outside the control. They were looking at their watches, trying to see our time.”
In the end, Kyle was unable to make up the time to win the event, dropping another few seconds back.
“It was great to go flat out here. Earlier in the season you have to focus on being consistent, but now we can really go all out,” smiled Sarasin. “Travis and I were both nervous, both pushing on those last stages, it was awesome.”
Though he didn’t win, Kyle Sarasin was exuberant about his ability to keep pace with Travis, and it indicates how fast the young driver has become.
Third place nationally went to Lauchlin O’Sullivan and Scott Crouch in a PGT Subaru Impreza. The pair had stepped out to a secure third position yesterday, despite a failing clutch. After repairing the clutch overnight, the two continued on pace to the finish, managing the lead over Carl Jardevall and Chrissie Beavis. With their third place finish, O’Sullivan also won the PGT class in Colorado.
John Conley took top Group 5 honours, while Michel Hoche-Mong edged out Don Conley for top Group 2 finish.
Today’s action also made up the second regional event of the weekend. The Middle Cog 2 rally was won by Steve Bis and Brian Moody. The pair managed to open up a 50 second lead by the end of the day over second place finishers Erik Schmidt and Alix Hakala. Third place went to Michael Rose and Rebecca Greek. Both Bis and Rose also finished on the podium yesterday in the Middle Cog 1 regional and are thrilled to have had success again today.

Rally Colorado is the final round of the Colorado Rally Cup. Comprised of rally cross and hill climb events, the final event of the series has teams come to Rally Colorado. The series is a good feeder system and this rally saw many entries who were running their rally for the first time.
With the Colorado Rally Cup concluded, the overall champion is Jeremy Brown in his Group 2 Toyota MR2. In the Group 5 class, John Conley beat out Grant Hughes in the points for the class title. In the third class in the Colorado Rally Cup, the All Wheel Drive class, Steve Bis beat out Dave Kern. The co-driver championship goes to Simon Branton-Housley.
The finish for Travis Pastrana should secure the Subaru Rally Team USA driver his third consecutive title. Kyle Sarasin should move into the second position in the Rally America National Championship, with Ken Block only two points behind.
Rally car racing is considered the extreme sport of automobile racing and is often described simply as “real cars, real roads, real fast.” This all-season motorsport sees drivers and their co-drivers take modified road cars to the limit as they achieve blistering speeds over courses that cover more than 100 miles of gravel, dirt or snow-covered roads.
The 2008 Rally America National Championship series consists of nine exciting events that take place in a range of challenging weather and road conditions in a season that extends from February to October. Throughout the year, teams take on everything from the forest logging roads in Minnesota, to the high-altitude Yampa River Valley in Northwest Colorado, and the Pacific Northwest forest and coast paths.
The final event of the Rally America series is the Lake Superior Performance Rally. Held in Houghton, Michigan October 17-18, 2008, the event is known for its unpredictable conditions.

I know, not car related but I couldn’t believe what I saw when I went searching for the reason behind my ceiling leaking water…
Background Info:
My house is about 2-3 years old and had minor issues early in its life, such as insulation issues, electrical, minor gas leak in and outside the house, exterior brick work missing, and pluming issues. The problem started when the shower drain was slow to drain the water. Instead of using a chemical de-clogged (not sure if that’s a real word), I decided to use a plunger, which many basic DIY guides tell you to do. Well after plunging the drain a couple of times, the clog went away but I developed a new problem… The ceiling underneath the shower started to leak water.
Why was there a leak? Simple short answer is, construction error:
What you are seeing is the result of a drill going through the PVC pipe caused by the original plumbers that worked on the house during its build. Luckily the drain pipe isn’t a high pressure pipe or else I would have been knee deep in water. The funny thing is, this wasn’t the first time we found something like this. The same thing happened by electricians but instead with the drain pipe for the sump pump.
What makes me mad is this issue was obviously in the house since day 1 and probably was leaking very slowly for a couple years. Beazer wouldn’t repair the problem since we were outside our original 1 year warranty, which in some cases I agree with. But when you look at something like this that is clearly a construction error from the start, why would you not honor some time of assistance to help rectify the issue.
I think for future reference if you ever decide to buy a track home (mass construction communities), then I would make sure to hire a independent construction inspector that will watch the entire build from day 1 to make sure your house doesn’t run into these types of issues. Anyways, thanks for reading my rant.

Steamboat Springs, CO (Aug 26, 2008) — Ski Town USA will once again be host to one of the premier rally car racing events in the country. Rally Colorado, formerly known as the Colorado Cog Rally, is the 8th event out of 9 in the Rally America Series. Held in Steamboat Springs from September 11 – 14th, and commonly known by skiers for its “champagne powder” on the slopes, Rally Colorado will welcome the nation’s top rally teams fresh after the Ojibwe Forests Rally in Minnesota.
Subaru Rally Team USA, Travis Pastrana, extended his lead at Ojibwe and looks to cross the finish line in Colorado to defend his 2007 Rally America title. Only 11 points separates 2nd through 5th place in the overall standings, and both Ken Block and Andrew Pinker seek to gain ground over Andrew Comrie-Picard, who sits in the 2nd spot.
In its fourth year as part of the Rally America Series, the Northwest Colorado Rally is becoming known as one of America’s toughest rallies. The fast section of gravel roads and open areas combine to make this race a special destination for drivers and co-drivers. The wide-open course is particularly great for spectators to enjoy the fast-paced action with spectacular open viewing areas.
“The variety in the different racing stages is pretty significant,” said Jim Gill, event organizer of Rally Colorado. “We have everything from high speed to tight and technical that makes these courses so memorable.”
Rally fans will enjoy many opportunities to meet with the rally teams during the weekend. On Friday at 5:30pm, fans can watch rally videos and take photos at the Fan Festival on 5th and Lincoln, downtown Steamboat Springs. Fans will receive an added bonus at the “Miller Lite Video Fan Fest” on Saturday when the Ferrari Club of America – Rocky Mountain Region will showcase their cars with the rally teams. Festivities begin at 6:15pm at the same location as Friday’s festival.
After the fan festivals, fans are welcome to watch the rally from designated viewing areas. Instructions can be found at www.rallycolorado.org.
About 40 teams are expected to participate in Rally Colorado. Aiding the driver during the race is the co-driver who has precise course directions in a route book with instructions measured in hundredths of a mile.
Cars competing in the rally are street legal vehicles modified for safety. The cars are separated into six classes ranging from stock to highly modified. Cars popular in rally racing include makes such as Audi, Dodge, Mazda, Hyundai and Subaru.

Easy to set up and store, the Logitech Speed Force Wireless features a one-piece design that is convenient to use whether you’re sitting on your couch, arm chair or living room floor. The built-in gas and brake controls are located on the wheel itself and the expandable lap rest is easily adjusted – allowing for comfortable game play without the need to use a table or a desk. Plus, familiar Wii controls make navigating game menus a snap.
To help you minimize clutter, the Logitech Speed Force Wireless eliminates the console cable. With Logitech’s 2.4 GHz wireless technology, you can enjoy lag-free racing from up to 30 feet away from the console. To start racing, just connect the USB receiver to the Wii console, plug in the wheel’s power cord, put in Need for Speed: Undercover, adjust the lap rest to a comfortable position and wait for the race to begin. There’s no mounting or assembly involved. And when you’re ready to put it away, the USB receiver can be stowed in a convenient compartment on the bottom of the wheel.
Logitech Force Feedback Technology
Having introduced its first force feedback products in 1998, the company has designed 19 models of force feedback wheels. And more than 100 racing titles have supported Logitech force feedback technology on a variety of game platforms.
When you’re playing a racing game, standard controllers don’t let you feel all the excitement that makes racing with force feedback technology the closest you can get to the real thing. Force feedback, unlike vibration feedback or rumble technology, creates directionally precise, tactile feedback that accurately simulates forces experienced in the game. Through the use of advanced software and electronics, force feedback moves a steering wheel as if the device were subject to real external forces.

Innovative Four-Passenger Electric Car Delivery in Fourth Quarter 2008
TOKYO, August 8, 2008 –
Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) announced today that it has signed a letter of intent with Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) covering the use of MMC’s zero-emissions i MiEV electric vehicle for research and demonstration purposes.
According to Tohru Hashimoto, Corporate General Manager of the i MiEV Business Promotion Office of Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, “We are hoping for the opportunity to introduce the small, four-passenger Mitsubishi i MiEV to PG&E’s fleet in the fourth quarter of this year so that we can begin real-world U.S. testing. The joint partnership will yield valuable data and a greater appreciation of the practicality of an all-electric vehicle in California.”
Extensive testing with the i MiEV has taken place over the past two years with seven major utility companies in Japan. The success of these programs quickened the pace and prompted Mitsubishi Motors to begin selling the electric vehicle in the Japan market in summer of 2009.
Through daily use, PG&E will gauge the viability of utilizing all-electric vehicles in its operations and further understand the impact of charging electric vehicles on the electric grid. The testing will provide PG&E and Mitsubishi Motors with vehicle usage data, which will be used to publicly demonstrate and validate the many benefits of dedicated electric vehicles within the California market.
“PG&E has been researching the benefits of electric vehicles since the nineties. Partnering with automakers like Mitsubishi is vital to developing compatible infrastructures to support electric vehicles in the marketplace and ensure responsible integration with the grid,” said Andrew Tang, senior director of smart energy web for PG&E. “By working with Mitsubishi, we will both benefit from a free exchange of electric vehicle information that includes charging infrastructure availability, vehicle data, vehicle commercialization expectations and public feedback.”

Former Production World Rally Champion Niall McShea took a decisive win this weekend at Rally America’s Round 6, the New England Forest Rally.
McShea and co-driver Marshall Clarke, who arrived at the New England Forest Rally thanks to the backing of a group of Irish ex-patriots, finished more than a minute ahead of challenger Andrew Pinker to earn the coveted Last Chance Qualifier invitation for X Games 14.
It was not immediately clear whether the talented driver, who won the PWRC championship in 2004, planned to accept the opportunity to start the high-profile contest.
The result was a blow for Australian Pinker and co-driver Robbie Durant who had hoped to make their return to the contest after they were knocked out in the quarterfinals last year.
But once again, the team fell prey to the mechanical trouble that has plagued the team all season long. Pinker and co-driver Durant had been driving well until a broken gearshift lever cost him 30 seconds late on Day 1. They weren’t able to close the gap.
Third place overall went to Subaru Rally Team USA’s Travis Pastrana and co-driver Derek Ringer, who fought through mechanical trouble of their own to round out the podium.
The strong result moves Pastrana into the lead in the Rally America Championship, ahead of previous leader Andrew Comrie-Picard.
Comrie-Picard and co-driver Marc Goldfarb drop back to second in the standings after a weekend of mechanical trouble with their rarely run back-up car. The team said they opted to bring their 11-year-old Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IV to the contest in order to save their newer Evolution IX for X Games competition.
A number of championship contenders failed even to finish the notoriously tough contest.
Subaru Rally Team USA’s Ken Block and co-driver Alex Gelsomino were out on Day 2 after an off-road excursion, Matt Johnson and co-driver Jeremy Wimpey blew the motor in their Hankook-Rallispec Subaru, and Antoine L’Estage and Nathalie Richard also called it quits late on Day 2.
By the end of Day 2, only 16 cars remained in the contest.
The Group 5 win went to Christopher Duplessis and co-driver Catherine Woods in their 1990 Volkswagen GTi, while Amy BeberVanzo and co-driver Ole Holter took the PGT victory in their 2006 Subaru WRX. Jen Horsey and co-driver Jim Dechamp took the Production win in their Mitsubishi Lancer.
